Safe Place is a runaway prevention, outreach and education program.

Where kids get help...FAST.
Safe Place provides access to immediate help and support for young people at risk of abuse, neglect or serious family problems through a network of other qualified agencies, trained volunteers, and businesses. A designated Safe Place sites displays a distinctive yellow and black Safe Place logo.

The program began in Louisville, Kentucky in 1983 as a outreach effort of the YMCA Center for Youth Alternatives. Success has prompted the implementation of this youth shelter outreach program in communities throughout the United States.
