President- June McMahon
June Rothenberg McMahon was born to deaf parents in New York City. She attended JHS 47, an oral day school then attended public schools. She graduated from Gallaudet University in 1974 and also has a Masters Degree from Western Maryland College. She worked at the American School for the Deaf and public Schools in Connecticut as a teacher and assistant principal. She also taught in Public schools in Broward and Palm Beach before retiring in December, 2008.
Her leadership experiences started with the Junior National Association of the Deaf. She held several leadership positions at Gallaudet University including being President of the Student Body Government. She was also President of the Connecticut Association of the Deaf. June is also on the board of the Gallaudet University Alumni Association.
June resides in Boynton Beach with her husband Robert and two Boston
Terriers.

110,000 residents in Manatee & Sarasota Counties have hearing loss which equals
16.1% of our population.
Classifications of hearing loss:
mild, moderate, moderate-severe,
severe and profound.
Appropriate Terms:
deaf, hard of hearing, late-deafened,
and deaf-blind individuals.
Expressive Communication:
voicing, text, and/or sign language.
Receptive Communication:
hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive listening
devices, sign language, speech reading
and/or form of text.
Accommodations:
Assistive Listening Devices,
Sign Language, Oral & Tactile Interpreters,
Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART).
