Living With Hearing Loss Monthly Seminar at CCDHH Bradenton
Community Center for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing will host a series of monthly seminars on "Living with Hearing Loss". The seminar has been established for persons who have hearing loss to discuss a variety topics related to hearing loss, such as deafness, communication, assistive listening devices, alternative communication skills, awareness, experiences and information in a casual, comfortable atmosphere. GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE DISCUSSED: Coordination of services and policy recommendations for accessibility, supports, and services for persons who are deaf, hard of hearing, late-deafened, or deaf-blind in Florida. This is primarily a strategic planning meeting for the Council. The purpose is to map out the goals and objectives for the Council for the next ten years.
NOTICE UNDER THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT: Sign language and oral interpreter services and communication-assisted real-time translation (CART) services will be provided at this meeting. Any person requiring additional accommodations (i.e., deaf-blind interpreting) needs to contact Mary Grace Tavel at least 14 working days prior to the meeting. |

Hearing Loss Association of Sarasota will be having their general meeting at Selby Library, 1331 First Street, Sarasota, FL on Wednesday, May 21 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. "Wrong Game" Movie Showing at Venice Little Theatre
"Wrong Game" Movie will be shown at Venice Little Theatre!
The movie, Wrong Game takes place in a mansion filled with mysterious history. A group of people is called to the mansion to participate in a game where the winner receives $1 million. When the participants gather at the mansion, they learn the hard truth that the game is no original. Losing the game is not an option. To add further drama, each participant holds highly specialized skills and collectively, they must determine whose skills or expertise is most beneficial to the game. What the participants do not know is that the mastermind of this game is among them as a participant, judging each of them silently and strategically. With more unexpected twists and turns than any other movie, this film will keep participants guessing until the very end.
