Deaf College and University
Here are the three main deaf colleges or universities in the United States. Many deaf students go to each one for different experiences, but mostly also because of the large deaf populations and superior accomodations available at the schools listed below.
The National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) is the world's first and largest technological college for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Gallaudet University leads the world in undergraduate liberal arts education, career development, and outstanding graduate programs for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing students. The University also enjoys international renown for its research on the history, language, and culture of deaf people. California State University, Northridge is a vibrant, diverse university community of nearly 33,000 students and more than 4,000 faculty and staff, sited on a 356-acre campus in the heart of Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley.
